Our verdict

A solid pick if you want brand-new rooms with an easy walk to both the beach and Vilamoura Marina. Compare it with Crowne Plaza if you want to step straight onto the sand instead.

Hyatt Regency Vilamoura Algarve is the newest name on this stretch of coast: the former Dom Pedro Vilamoura, reopened in 2026 after a full renovation of the rooms, restaurants, pools, and public spaces. You’re just outside Quarteira, in the heart of Vilamoura’s marina and beach district.

It’s not oceanfront. You walk about five minutes to reach the sand and closer to fifteen for the busiest stretch of Vilamoura Marina. The hotel makes up for it with 8,000 square metres of gardens, two outdoor pools, and a heated indoor pool with a steam room for the days you’d rather not fight for a sunbed.

Who fits, who should skip

Families who want brand-new rooms and a pool big enough for everyone. Golfers who’ll take a ten-minute drive to the championship courses in exchange for marina nightlife on their doorstep. Couples happy with a lively resort town rather than a quiet cove.

Skip it if beach-out-the-door matters more than anything else. Crowne Plaza Vilamoura puts you directly on the sand a short drive away.

Rooms and the daily rhythm

Rooms were fully refurbished in the 2026 renovation, so expect a fresh, updated look rather than a dated marina hotel. Breakfast gets consistent praise, right down to the fresh orange juice. Padel courts were being finished around the relaunch, so ask what’s ready before you book if that matters to your week.

Worth it?

Yes, for new rooms with an easy walk to both the beach and the marina. It’s around 30 minutes from Faro Airport – check transfers if you’d rather not deal with a rental car straight off the plane. Compare it with other Vilamoura stays in where to stay in Vilamoura.
