The story behind Hotel Praia Sol is a local one. The owner spent childhood holidays with grandparents in Quinta do Romão, then spent years building a small beach hotel on that same patch of Quarteira. You feel it in the mood more than in the marble: warm colours, wood furniture, and a size that still feels like a family house rather than a big resort.
You’ll find it on Rua D. Duarte, Urbanização Quinta do Romão, 8125-301 Quarteira – about halfway between Quarteira’s seafront and the Vilamoura marina, so you can walk to either.
Rooms are air-conditioned with TV and private bathrooms. There’s an outdoor pool with plenty of loungers, a bar for light meals, and massage treatments if you book them ahead. Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00.
The beach is roughly a five-minute walk; the marina is under ten minutes on foot for most guests. Faro Airport is about 24 km, so plan a transfer or hire car if you want Quarteira town and golf days without doing taxi maths every morning.

Who actually books here
Families who want sand without a long shuttle. Couples on a mid-range Quarteira week who still hop to Vilamoura for one marina dinner. Repeat Algarve visitors who prefer a small hotel over a big big resort.
Skip it if you need suites, a full spa campus, or nightlife outside your door every night – look at marina hotels or Domes Lake instead.

Worth it?
Yes when a walkable Quarteira beach base with a real pool matters more than marina polish. Compare with Hotel Pinhal do Sol further inland, and read where to stay in Quarteira if you’re still weighing town sand against Vilamoura nights.
