2 Passos sits on the boardwalks through the dunes at Praia da Ancão, in the Quinta do Lago / Almancil stretch of the Golden Triangle. The restaurant has been on this coast for more than thirty years; the current building reads as a modern dune pavilion with glass walls facing the Atlantic.

What to expect
The kitchen leans Mediterranean and regional Portuguese: fresh fish and shellfish from local markets, Algarve-style tapas, salads, and locally sourced meat. Fish and tapas change with the market catch. Desserts and ice cream are homemade – red-fruit cheesecake, chocolate, almond cake, the usual sweet finish after a salty lunch.
Signature plates on the current menu include Passos-style tiger shrimp, João’s lobster casserole, salt fish, Algarve-style cod, clams, grilled or fried squid, and a big T-bone for two. Full list: menu.
Bar 3 Moço on the sand
Bar 3 Moço sits right on Praia da Ancão sand below the restaurant – cocktails, soft drinks for kids, and snacks while you stay on the beach. It is the casual half of the same visit: restaurant for a sit-down lunch with linen and wine glasses, bar for fruit-forward drinks and a looser afternoon. Details from the house: Bar 3 Moço.

Hours (seasonal – confirm before you go)
Peak summer (June-August): roughly 12:30-18:00 daily. September shortens to about 12:30-17:30. Closed 24, 25 and 31 December and 1 January. From November to March, closed on Mondays.
That makes this a lunch-and-afternoon stop, not a 22:00 dinner reservation. Build the evening elsewhere in Quinta, Almancil, or Vilamoura.
Who it suits
Yes for Quinta do Lago and Almancil weeks when you want seafood with a real dune view. Couples after a long lunch. Families who can split – grown-ups upstairs, kids drifting toward Bar 3 Moço later.

Worth it?
Yes when Ancão sand and a proper fish lunch are the point of the day. Arrive early in August, leave room for dessert, and treat Bar 3 Moço as the beach extension rather than a separate restaurant hunt.
