Our verdict

Pick Loki when you want a small Portimão tasting night built around Monchique and coastal produce. Pick Vista if you want a Michelin star on the cliffs. Pick a simple grill if you only have an hour.

Website / reservations

Loki Restaurant is a small tasting-menu room in central Portimão, led by Chef João Marreiros. 8500-740 Portimão – a short hop from the riverside and a clear step away from Praia da Rocha nightlife.

The story on the plate starts in the hills. Marreiros grew up around Monchique, foraging and cooking with his grandmother, and the restaurant still leans on produce from within roughly 100 km, mountains and coast on the same menu. Everything is made daily from scratch, which is why there is no à la carte safety net. You’re booking the experience, not a random main.

Courses arrive with the story behind the produce – local, seasonal, and paced for a long evening.

Who it suits

Couples celebrating something, or food travellers who want one Portimão night that feels personal rather than marina-generic. Anyone happy to sit for two to three hours while the chef talks them through what’s on the plate. People who care that the wine list leans Algarve rather than generic international.

Skip it if you need a flexible à la carte menu, if you’re dining alone on a tight budget (the house asks for a two-cover minimum to protect the experience), or if you only have sixty minutes before a show.

The menu and the bill

Expect around eleven dishes for €135 per person (confirm on the site before you book – tasting menus move). Snacks between courses are part of the rhythm, so do not treat “eleven” as eleven tiny bites and a hungry taxi home. Wine pairings and Algarve bottles do the regional matching; ask when you reserve if you want a pairing locked in.

Hours are evening only: Tuesday to Saturday, 19:00-23:00. Sunday and Monday closed.
