Pastelaria Doce & Arte

Pastelaria Doce & Arte in Monchique village - pastry and café stop for coffee and sweets after a Serra or Foia day.

Our verdict

Worth a coffee-and-cake pause in Monchique village - not your destination dinner.

Pastelaria Doce & Arte is the pastry stop in Monchique village, the kind of place you duck into after the walk up Fóia, when your legs want a chair and you want sugar and a strong bica.

It’s a café first, not a dinner address. Cakes, coffee, a quick sit-down, then back out into the mountain air. Weekends bring day-trippers doing the same loop, so go earlier if you want a table rather than a takeaway box.

For a fuller meal in the same spirit, Velochique next door does a proper bike-café lunch. Skip Doce & Arte if you’re after a sit-down dinner, it isn’t built for that.

Worth it? Yes, if you want coffee-and-cake pause between the viewpoint and the thermal baths. Guide: where to stay in Monchique.
