Our verdict

Strong mid-range Olhão hotel when you want a pool above town without Real Marina pricing. Book early for August rooftop weeks.

Pure Formosa Concept Hotel opened in 2021 in central Olhão, a few minutes’ walk from the Igreja Matriz and the markets. Official: pureformosa.com. The roof is the whole sell here: a pool and terrace with wide views over the cubist rooftops and out to the Ria Formosa. It’s the newest hotel fabric in town at this price point.

Who fits

Couples who want something newer than a pensão but still want to walk to the seafood restaurants at night. Short breaks built around market mornings and a sundowner swim upstairs before dinner.

Skip it if you need a full spa wing or marina-front suites – that’s Real Marina Hotel & Spa territory instead.

Rooms and facilities

Roughly 67 rooms with air-con and minibars, built for comfort rather than character. Continental breakfast and parking usually cost extra, and there’s a paid airport shuttle on request. Poolside snack service runs on the roof in season, which is handy on days you don’t want to go back downstairs.

Compared with

Hotel Cidade de Olhão for simpler station-side rates with a courtyard pool instead of a rooftop one. Casa Amor for boutique design and a saltwater rooftop restaurant.

Worth it?

Yes, as Olhão’s clearest modern three-star with a rooftop pool. Confirm the breakfast and parking add-ons before you lock a non-refundable rate, since the headline price doesn’t always include them.

Quick FAQ

Is the rooftop pool open all year?
Expect it to run through the warmer months – confirm dates directly if you’re travelling in winter.

Is parking included?
No, it’s usually a paid extra – factor it in if you’re renting a car.
