Al Quimia

Albufeira

Al Quimia review - Michelin Recommended fine dining at EPIC SANA Algarve with Água, Fogo, and Terra tasting menus by chef Luís Mourão.

Our verdict

Al Quimia is the Falésia fine-dining pick in the Guide without a star - ideal for EPIC SANA stays or one smart night east of central Albufeira.

Al Quimia is the fine-dining room at the EPIC SANA Algarve hotel, just back from Falésia beach. It’s Michelin Recommended rather than starred, which in practice means serious cooking without the full star price or pomp. Chef Luís Mourão gives you three tasting routes to pick from: Água for seafood, Fogo for meat, and Terra if you’re eating vegetarian. The kitchen is glass-fronted, so you watch the work while you eat.

This is an easy night out if you’re already staying at EPIC SANA or anywhere along the Falésia cliff hotels: dinner without getting back in the car. Treat it as your smart night east of central Albufeira, especially when the bigger names are full. It’s also a solid backup when Vila Joya or Ocean have no tables. Expect resort prices, and book ahead on peak nights. Not the spot for young kids or a casual bite.

Worth it? Yes for one polished evening if you’re based on the Falésia side. Book direct at Al Quimia, or see how it sits against the region’s starred tables in our Michelin stars Algarve guide.
