Temperus (sometimes styled Tempêrus) sits toward the far end of east Quarteira beach, past Praia do Almargem and Trafal. It’s a long-running beach restaurant and bar, not a marina showpiece, and the kitchen sticks to what Algarve fishing towns do best: octopus and fish-roe salads, horse mackerel, clams open natural or Bulhão Pato, then whatever fish and shellfish came in that morning from the Quarteira and Faro markets. The whole point here is simplicity – a quiet, familiar room and the sea a few steps away. Come for the catch and the beach air, not for Instagram staging. It suits villa and apartment groups in Quarteira, Almançil, or the area east of the marina who want proper shellfish without a dressed-up Vilamoura night.
