United Kitchens of India — Almancil

Loulé

United Kitchens of India Almancil review — regional Indian cooking on the Vale do Lobo road, between Quinta do Lago resorts and Almancil village.

Our verdict

The Almancil room is the flagship experience — more polished, more regional on the menu, and the pick for Quinta and Vale do Lobo weeks when you want Indian food that feels genuinely researched rather than reheated.

United Kitchens of India — Almancil is on Estrada de Vale do Lobo, Corgo da Zorra, in the golf-resort corridor between Almancil, Vale do Lobo, and Quinta do Lago. It is the second branch from chef-owner Narayan Rao, and it feels a step more refined than the Vilamoura room: a premium dining mood, a menu organised by India’s regions — North, South, East, and West — and staff who will talk you through daily specials rather than pushing a single curry list.

Expect dishes beyond the standard British-Indian canon — starters such as tuna maach cutlet and beguni show up on public menus, and mains like mutton sukka get repeat mentions from guests who want slow, spice-heavy cooking. Budget roughly €25–40 per person for a full dinner with drinks. Service runs daily, around 12:00–15:00 and 18:00–22:30; the restaurant ranks strongly on TripAdvisor in the Vale do Lobo area and holds very high Google review scores on its own booking site.

Who it suits: Quinta and Vale do Lobo villa groups wanting a dressed-up Indian night without driving to Vilamoura marina; food-focused couples who like regional menus; diners with allergy or dietary notes — the booking flow captures allergies and vegan/vegetarian preferences upfront. Skip it for a cheap takeaway dash or if you are staying west Algarve without a car.

Book: United Kitchens — Almancil. Marina-area alternative: United Kitchens of India — Vilamoura. More dining: best restaurants in Loulé.
