Praia do Garrão Poente is the western half of one long beach that runs between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago / Ancão, in Loulé municipality. The town council’s official split names it Poente (west), with Nascente (east) next door. This is the Poente half, closer to Dunas Douradas and Vale do Lobo, with the restaurant area that a lot of Golden Triangle weeks quietly revolve around.

Skip it if you want free, empty sand down a dirt track – try Trafal or Almargem instead – or if resort parking rules and beach-club prices will ruin the mood before you’ve even put your towel down.
What to expect
Golden sand backed by recovering dunes and pines, with better access for pushchairs and wheelchairs in places than the rougher cliff pockets further east. Walk toward Nascente and you’ll cross a small, informal band of beach concessions people still call Julia’s Beach. If you’re not staying in the estate, confirm public access paths and paid parking before an August weekend.
