Our verdict

Book Victoria when your group needs kitchens plus a proper sports programme near Falésia. Pick Adriana instead if walking straight onto the sand matters more than the athletics track.

AP Victoria Sports & Beach sits on Rua do Pinhal at Acoteias, inland of Praia da Falésia in the pine country behind Olhos de Água. The name says beach, but the address tells the real story: this is built around a sports campus first, with the coast a short trip away rather than a gate at the end of the garden.

And what a campus. There’s a Portuguese Athletics Federation-approved 400m track, a natural-grass football pitch, padel and tennis courts, a gym, and meeting rooms that training clubs actually use for team briefings. If your group is here for pre-season football or an athletics camp, this is one of the few Algarve hotels built for that job rather than adapted to it.

Rooms are apartments with kitchens, which changes the maths for a family of five or a squad of twelve: nobody’s stuck ordering three meals a day from a restaurant menu. Two outdoor pools split adults from kids, there’s a seasonal splash park, and the Kids Club gives parents a real break rather than a token playroom. Board runs B&B or all-inclusive, with buffet dinners at the Pódium restaurant and a pool bar for the long afternoons between training sessions.

Getting to Falésia itself takes a short walk, a shuttle, or a quick taxi. Worth knowing before you book if beach-at-breakfast is non-negotiable.

Who this suits

Training groups and sports camps who need a proper pitch and track, not a car park to warm up in. Families who’d rather cook half their meals than eat out every night, and who like having a gym and a kids club under the same roof.

Skip it if you want sand outside the lobby every morning. That’s AP Adriana Beach Resort, a short drive away on Falésia itself. It’s also the wrong pick if you want Albufeira nightlife on foot.

Worth it?

Yes, when a sports campus and apartment kitchens matter more than walking straight onto the beach. And read where to stay in Albufeira if you’re still weighing up the area.
