Our verdict

Book Quinta do Morgado for apartment space and pools outside the cobbled centre - town boutiques if you want to walk to every dinner.

Quinta do Morgado – most guests just know it by the apartment name, Monte da Eira – sits on the EN125 about 2 km outside Tavira’s old town. You get a three-star self-catering flat, an outdoor pool for the kids, and tennis courts for anyone who still has energy after the beach. It’s a base for a holiday, not a boutique postcard.

The TP Senior longstay office on site tells you who this really suits: people staying weeks rather than a long weekend, often through the quieter winter months when rates make more sense for a slower pace. In summer, families settle into a similar rhythm – breakfast at the flat, a full day at the pool, then a drive or taxi into town for dinner by the Gilão once everyone’s had enough of their own kitchen.

Who it suits

Families who want apartment space and a pool, and longer-stay guests who’d rather cook than eat out every night.

Skip it if you want to step straight from your room onto a restaurant terrace – São Paulo Boutique Hotel or AP Maria Nova Lounge Hotel put you closer to that.

Worth it?

Yes if apartment space and a pool matter more than a cobbled front door. And read where to stay in Tavira before choosing centre over the EN125.
