Ria Formosa Guest House

Faro Mid-range

Ria Formosa Guest House in Montenegro offers pool, terrace views over Faro and the lagoon, and a short hop from the airport - not a stay inside the Natural Park itself.

Our verdict

Strong Montenegro pool option near FAO. Pin Rua Manuel Dias Lima so you do not book a Tavira or Cabanas Ria Formosa property by mistake.

Ria Formosa Guest House sits on Rua Manuel Dias Lima, Lote 12, on Faro’s Montenegro fringe, and it earns its name honestly: a terrace pool with views toward the lagoon and the city rooftops beyond it. The house advertises roughly 1 km from Faro Airport and about 3.5 km from Praia de Faro, with eleven modern rooms, an outdoor pool, a bar, a breakfast buffet you can take indoors or out, and spa facilities. Rooms have air-con, a smart TV, a seating area, and a private bathroom.

Worth knowing: that name causes mix-ups. This is a Montenegro guesthouse, not a camping pitch inside the Ria Formosa Natural Park, and it’s not the same as Camping Ria Formosa near Cabanas on the east coast. Match the Rua Manuel Dias Lima address before you pay.

Who fits

Couples and short-break guests who want a pool terrace and a view worth sitting still for, without paying Baixa prices to be above the old town. It’s a step up from a bare guesthouse for anyone bookending the airport.

Compared with

Hotel Mónaco if you want four-star hotel scale and a restaurant nearby. Monte da Ria Guest House for a simpler garden stay on Gaspar Martins.

Worth it?

Yes, for pool and lagoon views with FAO almost next door. Just double-check you’ve pinned the right Ria Formosa on the map before you book.
