Our verdict

Book Pedras da Rainha for kitchen space and sports on a big Cabanas estate - Casa Viana if you want a tiny village guesthouse instead.

Pedras da Rainha is a sprawling three-star holiday estate beside Cabanas de Tavira and the Ria Formosa – white apartments and villas from studios through four-bedroom houses spread over roughly 17 hectares of gardens, olives, and lawns.

Self-catering kitchens are the daily rhythm here, though you can add breakfast or half-board if you’d rather not cook every night. A supermarket and restaurants sit within walking distance, and the estate has outdoor pools (including a kids pool), a playground, and a proper sports corner: tennis, padel, lawn bowls, and a clubhouse. A free boat transfer runs guests to Cabanas Beach, and pets are welcome in what feels more like a village resort than a city hotel.

Who it suits

Families, tennis groups, and longer stays that need apartment space near Cabanas without sleeping on the Ria front row.

Skip it if you want adults-only rooftop energy – try AP Cabanas Beach & Nature.

Worth it?

Yes if you want a kitchen-and-sports Cabanas estate week. Stay context: where to stay in Tavira.
