Casa Velha

Loulé

Casa Velha review - Quinta do Lago's heritage fine dining room, Michelin Recommended, with Epicure and degustation menus.

Our verdict

Casa Velha is the approachable Quinta do Lago classic - strong when Gusto is full or you want terrace Portuguese-European without star formality.

Casa Velha was the first restaurant Quinta do Lago ever had, and it still carries that history well. It held a Michelin star back in 1991 and stays Michelin Recommended today. The chef-led Epicure and tasting menus blend European technique with Portuguese ingredients, served on the terrace where the resort’s whole dining story began.

Think of it as the approachable Quinta classic. It’s the easy fine-dining night when Gusto is booked out or you simply don’t want the full star formality. It suits Quinta do Lago guests after a relaxed-but-smart dinner, and groups who’d rather sit on a terrace over Portuguese-European plates than sit through a tasting marathon. Book the terrace ahead in summer.

Worth it? Yes for a heritage Quinta dinner without the fuss. Book direct at Casa Velha, or compare the starred option at Gusto first. Casual lake afternoon: The Shack.
