Our verdict

Book Pine Cliffs when you want one Falésia estate for hotel service and apartment space, with spa, tennis, golf, and beach club on site. Skip it if you need Old Town walkability or a compact boutique hotel.

Check availability

Compare live rates and cancellation rules on our booking partners - flexible dates win in peak season.

Pine Cliffs Hotel is the name we use for the whole Pine Cliffs, a Luxury Collection Resort plateau above Praia da Falésia – hotel wings and Residence apartments included. Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 10:00.

This is not a single tower. It is a ~72-hectare clifftop village: pines, red cliffs, multiple pools, restaurants and bars, Serenity Spa, golf, Annabel Croft tennis and padel, and a beach concession down the boardwalk. Marriott’s Luxury Collection badge sits on the hotel and Residence categories. We used to split Residence onto its own page – that listing is unpublished so everything lives here.

Who this week is for

Families who will actually use Porto Pirata, the adventure park, and several pools. Multi-gen groups mixing hotel rooms with Residence kitchens. Golf and tennis weeks that want courts and a short course without leaving the estate. Couples after Falésia views and spa days rather than Oura nightlife.

Skip it if you need cobbled Old Town dinners on foot, a small design hotel, or adults-only quiet. For design-led Falésia luxury next door, compare EPIC SANA Algarve.

Hotel rooms vs Residence (and the rest of the map)

Book the hotel when you want full service and classic resort rooms. Book Residence categories when you need bedrooms, a kitchen, and space for kids to nap while adults hit tennis. The same resort map also includes Gardens, Village, Suites, and Ocean Suites inventory – confirm which building you are in when you compare rates on the accommodation page.

Ask for the view you care about. Cliff and Atlantic outlooks sell the stay; garden wings run quieter.

What the day feels like

Mornings split three ways: Serenity Spa or Active by Serenity gym, Annabel Croft tennis/padel, or a cliff-path walk toward Falésia sand. Afternoons land at one of the eight pools, the beach concession, or Corda Café energy between activities. Evenings are on-site dining across a large restaurant-and-bar roster, or a fifteen-minute drive into Albufeira Old Town.

August tip: prime pool rows and kids-club slots fill early. Treat the hire car as optional for beach weeks, essential if you want Vilamoura or Old Town nights.

Serenity Spa and wellbeing

Serenity Spa is the wellness hub – signature Algarve treatments (including Falésia sand / Ria Formosa salt rituals), massages, body and facial menus, plus Active by Serenity gym, sauna, jacuzzi, and indoor pool. Hairdresser and wellbeing programmes (detox, fitness, yoga) sit beside the spa. Book treatments when you book the room in peak season. Details: spa and wellbeing.

Family, golf, and sport

Porto Pirata and a large kids area (thousands of square metres on the resort’s own figures) make this a serious family base, not a token kids’ corner. Adventure park / tree-climbing and seasonal escape-room style activities add rainy-day options. See family and kids.

Golf academy and course, Annabel Croft tennis and padel academies, beach and water sports, and a professional football centre share the estate. Sports-led groups should book court and tee time when they book rooms – golf and sports.

Food and drink

Roughly twenty restaurants and bars cover breakfast buffets (e.g. Jardim Colonial), casual cafés (Corda Café), healthier daytime spots (Zest), clubhouse dining, and evening options across the plateau and beach club. Menus and hours move by season – use dining before you arrive. Half-board packages are common; compare total stay cost, not the room rate alone.

Getting there

Faro Airport is about 38 km. Sort transfers if you land late; keep car hire if you want Old Town, Vilamoura, or Benagil days. Parking on site is available. Neighbourhood context: where to stay in Albufeira.

Compared with

EPIC SANA Algarve for design spa calm on the same Falésia belt. PortoBay Falésia for another cliff-strip option. Jupiter Albufeira if Old Town animation matters more than pine-forest paths.

Worth it?

Yes when you want Falésia cliff luxury with room for a whole family or golf group on one estate – hotel or Residence, spa, tennis, and beach club without hopping properties. Confirm which accommodation type you are booking, lock kids-club and spa slots early in August, and accept that Old Town nights need wheels.
